The Congregational Church of Christ of Los Angeles started the church in July 1888 as a weekly Sunday School. It has met weekly ever since. It was formally organized as a church in December 1894 and incorporated in January 1895. In 1890, Redondo Beach only had a population of 660, but was incorporated as a city in 1892. The church became independent in the mid-1930's and retained its congregational form of government. Later, its name was changed to South Bay Bible Church. In the spring of 1985, it affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and later changed it's name to Evangelical Free Church of Redondo Beach. Most recently in 2009, the church was reestablished as an autonomous local church, with the new name of Sovereign Grace Bible Church.

Held in the Chapel next door: 121 S. PCH.

For both December 25th and January 1st:
Our morning worship service will begin at 10am,
There will be no Sunday School,
And no evening worship service.

Our normal Sunday Worship services will return to normal January 8th of 2012.
